Dinner with friends

Had a yummy meal after a day at the IJhallen flee market with my friends Lesley and Rowan!

Healthy snack time

What you need:
- whole-wheat egg cake
- strawberries
- whipped cream
- a little bit of powdered sugar
- fresh mint

Perfect snack and a healthier choice. I think the image says it all... YUM!

Picnic

Wednesday I had a day off work and I went to Amsterdam with Jessica for a picnic at the park. We brought nice and jummy food, Jessica made banana/oatmeal cookies with walnuts and some pure chocolate (easy & healthy!). After that we went for a little bit of shopping (didn't buy anything, applause for me!)

Study-food

When you're working hard, don't forget to treat yourself with nice & healthy foods! Love to have a big lunch and actually enjoy it, instead of eating my bread during lessons at school. Taking breaks helps me to concentrate better!

Happy easter

I made a nice lunch today :)

Even though I don't really like it, I start the day with a cup of coffee with milk because I have to get up at 6.30 for school, ugh very long day today..) + muesli

Homemade bread with goat cheese (great with honey, but I had to take it with me to school.. I hate to lunch at school bleh). I drink a few bottles of water during the day at school!

More apple pie ghehehe <3 This is definitely a pie-snack week!

Food diary: Day 4

Breakfast
I wake up late and eat grapes, a kiwi and drink green tea because my parents and I are about to brunch with friends.

Green tea and a big piece of home made apple pie with pecan nuts and whipped cream <3

Dinner
Because off the brunch and pie we were not very hungry anymore and we didn't feel much like more cooking >> more pumpkin soup! :) + focaccia bread and tomatoes.

Food diary: Day 3

I really enjoy doing this btw! My dad looks at me like I'm a crazy person when I walk around in the house to find the perfect spot to take pictures of my meal, but I'm happy with most of the results :) do you like it?

Breakfast
Muesli again + kiwi <3

Lunch
Low fat yoghurt (forest fruit flavour) and two crackers with pesto and tomatoes.

SnackWhite grapes & dried apricots and biscuits // green tea during the entire day.

Dinner
Bean sprouts and leek, a potato, cod fish and some carrots. (omg the fish is staring at me! :o )

Food diary: Day 2

Breakfast
Muesli again but without nuts this time and with a kiwi + green tea.

Lunch
Homemade bread with philadelphia light and a glass of soy milk.

Snack
I have no idea what this is called in english! It's got a sort of cake structure with a sweet taste and it's made of eggs. + dried apricots: very iron-rich!

Dinner
And again, a not very photogenic meal: broccoli with potato croquettes and pork meat in mushroom sauce. The potato croquettes are fried in our air fryer (tip) so we don't have to use frying oil > healthier!

Late night snack
I am watching super exciting series and I totally forget about the time. Suddenly my stomach reminds me that it's 22.30 and I slightly get feelings of hunger. I know it's not very good to eat late, but I can't resist green tea with biscuits.

My food diary

Since half a year I am am keeping up a food diary. Writing it all down definitely helps you to be more aware of how healthy you eat. I decided to take pictures of the meals I eat for a whole week and put them here. (After I shot the first day I realized that my dinners at not very photogenic)

>> Day 1

Breakfast
I always start the day with a good breakfast, I never skip it because I think it's the most important meal of the day. Helps me to wake up, gives energy and I'm pretty much always hungry when I wake up.. I eat biologic muesli with oatmeal, raisins, extra linseed and bran, a few unsalted nuts and low fat yoghurt. I drink two cups of green tea.

Lunch
At home we bake our own bread. Sometimes we add some nice herbs or nuts and raisins. It's very good with marmalade (the one in the picture is made of pineapple & pear). I also drink a glass of soy milk and I eat a kiwi for the vitamins.

Snack
In the afternoon I met up with a friend in Utrecht and we drink a cup of tea with a piece of french apple almond pie, hmmm!

Dinner
For dinner we my mom cooked tagliatelle with some spinach, italian vegetable mix and shrimps. One of my favorites!
